Description

The Millenium Hilton is located in one of the city's fastest growing neighborhoods: the Wall Street/Financial District. A modern, high-rise hotel towering over lower Manhattan, it is an ideal jumping off point to explore lower Manhattan, and is also only a few subway stops from Midtown. Located in the heart of the Downtown area, it sits near the former location of the World Trade Center (Ground Zero). The Financial District is the site of Wall Street, considered the center of American, if not world, commerce. It was in this area of the city that the Dutch first began trading with Europe in the 17th century. See Step 4, "Sightseeing Tours," to add tickets for Downtown NYC Tours into New York Vacation Packages.

With 471 guest rooms and 98 suites, Millenium Hilton rooms contain high-tech amenities such as 42-inch plasma screen TVs and MP3 player clock radios; all in a warm comfortable atmosphere. The beds are large, the pillows are plush, and the rooms are decorated in soft shades of natural reds and blues.

The surrounding area is rich with activities. Battery Park is an oasis of green on the South-Western tip of Manhattan, a great place to spend a sunny afternoon. The Statue of Liberty is nearly at your door. The South Street Seaport should also be on your list of place to vist for great shopping and dining. The Seaport features original mercantile buildings, renovated sailing ships in an area that houses some of the oldest architecture in Manhattan. Have a drink on the water. There are street performers doing things you've never seen before. The adjacent blocks are adorned with cobblestone streets that date back to the early 1800s, and are now home to modern shops and acclaimed restaurants. The neighborhoods of Tribeca, SoHo and Greenwich Village are also nearby- great for art, music and shopping.

And there's much more to do within the hotel itself. Go relax in the glass-encased indoor swimming pool (one of the very few hotels with a pool in NYC), or work out in the state-of-the-art fitness center. You need not go far to get a good meal, this hotel features a restaurant and a bar on the main floor along with several fine restaurants within walking distance.

Why This Hotel?

-Lower Manhattan. You could spend a whole week here alone, exploring the historic Financial District, including Wall Street, the World Financial Center and the former site of the World Trade Center. There's Battery Park, a plush green garden overlooking the lower Manhattan waters. Go to Brooklyn. Take a stroll over the Brooklyn Bridge, one of Manhattans oldest and most beautiful bridges. Go view some old ships and dine at the South Street Seaport. The possibilities here are endless.

With so many options to choose from, selecting the right activities might be a challenge. That's why when you book with NYG, you always get a personal trip advisor who is there to steer you in the right direction, and ensure that you are satisfied with your NYC vacation.

-Of course, when you are situated near the world's center of commerce, it is still easy to commute to any other part of the city as well. There are nearly 10 Subway lines within 5 blocks of the Millenium Hilton, making it easy to head north if you're looking to visit major NY attractions such as Times Square or a Broadway Show. See Step 6, "Entertainment Tickets", to bundle Broadway packages into your New York Vacation Packages.

-Canal Street is right nearby. Canal Street is the home of interesting stores with great bargains and on the east end of the street, and famed Chinatown or Little Italy for lunch or dinner.

-The Millenium Hilton is more affordable than many Downtown Hotels, and when you book one of our New York hotel packages, you can add in activities such as Lion King Broadway tickets or New York helicopter tours, offering big savings for your trip.

-If Business is the reason for your visit, it's nice to know that a client may be only a few short blocks away.

-The surrounding neighborhoods are great as well. Walk just a few blocks north and you'll be able to explore the locally preserved neighborhoods of Little Italy and Chinatown. Only a few blocks in size, in Little Italy you can dine at a wealth of truly authentic Italian restaurants, or just explore the shops! Call one of our travel advisors at 866-406-5341 and ask about our New York vacation packages that combine New York hotel deals with restaurant deals.

-Like to shop? The young, hip neighborhood SoHo is also just a bit north. SoHo is home to dozens of designer shops and local boutiques. It also houses some of New York's finest contemporary art galleries and chic restaurants. Looking to add admission tickets to an art gallery, or other New York Sightseeing tickets into your trip? Explore Step 5, "Admission tickets", or call us, as not all deals are listed on the site.

Neighborhood & Attractions

The Financial District is one of Manhattan's most esteemed neighborhoods. Home to Wall Street, the New York Stock Exchange, and the World Financial Center, lower Manhattan is oft considered the epicenter of American capitalism. This was also the original area where the Dutch settled New Amsterdam in the 1600's. The downtown area was a bustling settlement, while much of the rest of Manhattan was just empty grasslands.

In addition for being renowned for the historic Financial District, lower Manhattan also is home to Battery Park, a preserved green paradise on the Southern Tip of Manhattan, the South Street Seaport, whose cobblestone streets date back to the early 19th century. Surrounding neighborhoods of interest include SoHo (great for art and shopping), the Village (great for music) and Little Italy and China Town (both excellent dining spots.) Need recommendations? Call one of our local New York travel agents at 866-406-5341.

With its prime location in downtown Manhattan, the Millenium Hilton is situated right near much of the great New York Sightseeing. Want to take a boat ride to the Statue of Liberty? How about a bus tour of lower Manhattan, which will bring you to the best spots of Little Italy, Chinatown, the World Trade Center site, Wall Street and more! See step 4, "Sightseeing Tours" for tickets to these or other NYC tours.
